Awestruck Outfitters Founder

So, a little about me. I'm Nathanael, the founder of Awestruck Outfitters. Most people that know me call me "Than" for short. I'm a West Texas guy who is knocking on the door of being 50 years old. I've officially reached the stage of life where things in my body just hurt, without any clear explanation. Anyone my age or older fully understands.

I grew up in an amazing family that took big, roadtrip vacations most summers. Those trips usually involved camping, hiking, and visiting National Parks. Some of my strongest memories from my formative years are connected to my experiences at these parks. Once I married and we had two boys, we continued the tradition of visiting as many National Parks as we could each year.

The Brown family on a National Park adventure

That's why visiting our National Parks is about family, community, and relationships for me. There is something about being in a breathtaking landscape with those you are closest to, without the distractions or demands of work or technology. I believe there is a sacred connection that takes place when you're beholding something amazing in nature together. And it's even more rewarding when you've had to trek to get to that one spot.

I am also a Christian pastor and a man of deep faith in Jesus. I mention that mainly because the outdoors - and especially our National Parks - are places where I encounter the majesty, awe, beauty, and wonder of God. They are places where I sense His nearness and experience overwhelming peace and perspective. And without question, I want you to have that same incredible experience (no matter what your religious or political leanings may be). In a strange way, our National Parks are almost holy spaces, natural temples where we can meet with God.

This website and online store is a "dream project." It's the intersection of faith, family, and the great outdoors of our National Parks. It's about National Park merchandise that hopefully evokes special memories and helps you savor your awestruck, transcendent moments.
